This weekend, the reigning world champ, Viswanathan “Vishy” Anand from India, will take on the challenger, the current #1 ranked player in the world, Magnus Carlsen of Norway. Carlsen won the right to challenging Anand by winning the FIDE Candidates Tournament earlier this year.

Anand has been the world champion since 2007, winning the world championship 5 times total. Carlsen on the other hand is playing in his first world championship match, but has dominated his opponents and has earned the world’s top ranking.

This is a highly anticipated match and should be fun to follow. Although the match will take place in India and games will start at 2:00am Pacific Time, you can still catch the results here.

Chess.com will also have coverage.
